Please correct the field(s) marked in red below:

Do you have an existing water meter?

If you wish to start or discontinue water/sewer service at a property with an existing water meter , simply call one of our customer service representatives at 540-853-5700. We'll be happy to assist you.

Where do I look to see if I do have a water meter?  Water meters are typically installed in the ground alongside the road on the side of the house where the main water line enters.  Water meters are covered by round metal lids.

If there is not an existing water meter, you need to request a new service.

If there is not an existing meter on your piece of property and you need to request a new water/sewer service installation, complete the availability application below.

Once approved, an Availability Letter, which contains information about water and sewer availability, the Authority’s responsibility and the customer's responsibility, and the fees that must be paid in order to have water or sewer services installed will be generated and linked to the Authority's GIS site.  You can download and print the availability letter from the Authority GIS site.

Water and sewer fees must be paid in full prior to a building permit being released by the City of Roanoke or the Counties of Roanoke, Franklin or Botetourt. You must have an address for your property before payment will be accepted for new service installations.

Availability fees can now be paid online. Your availability letter serves as the invoice.  When paying online, your availability letter number and your name must be included in the Customer Name field in order for us to process the payment.  (example:  John Smith 12345) . If you pay by credit card, you will be charged the greater of $1.95 or 2.95% of the payment amount as a convenience fee.   Paying by eCheck is free.
