Interested students must be enrolled and active in a high school or college curriculum that is beneficial to both the student and the Water Authority. College students must take a minimum of 6 credits in at least two out of three semesters for a total of 12 minimum credits per college year or be enrolled in a Graduate program.
Students will work 30-40 hours per week during the summer months. This is a paid internship; however, the Water Authority’s benefit package does not extend to the internship program.

Work with our Engineering Department to manipulate geographical data and provide updates to our GIS system. This opportunity focuses on both field and office GPS/GIS support, including data acquisition and data manipulation. Gain an understanding of asset management by learning how to perform basic surveying and data collection to be used in our GIS mapping system.
Internship for students with 12 credits (minimum) per college year

Work alongside Professional Engineers and technicians to gain exposure to many different aspects of civil and environmental engineering. From utility design to construction management, you will obtain hands-on training and valuable real-world experience in the water and wastewater industry. This program is designed for current Engineering students or recent Engineering graduates to gain real-world experience and earn their Professional Engineer license in 5-6 years. Work through a natural progression of summer internships, assignment rotations, and Authority funded PE exam preparation, with the objective of obtaining your PE license by the end of the program. Gain exposure to a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering concepts and skills through real-world application. If you have an interest inbeing a steward of the environment while providing an essential public health service to your community, this may be the right program for you.
