The Western Virginia Water Authority has established general business rules and development regulations to ensure consistent and fair customer interactions with Authority staff.

In 2008, The Federal Trade Commission instituted a rule whereby all creditors, such as the Authority, must implement a written identity theft prevention  program to detect, prevent and mitigate identity theft in connection with the opening of an account or any existing account.
