Tinker Creek Sewer Rehabilitation

INVITATION TO BID - Tinker Creek Sewer Rehabilitation
The Western Virginia Water Authority (Authority) will receive sealed bids for the TINKER CREEK SEWER REHABILITATION project at the Authority Engineering Services Office, Third Floor, Suite 300, 601 S Jefferson St, Roanoke, VA, 24011 until 2:00 pm on February 8, 2012. The Work is generally described as rehabilitation of 3,804 linear feet of 8-inch sewer, rehabilitation of 221 linear feet of 12-inch sewer, rehabilitation of approximately 30 sewer manholes, replacement of 1 sewer manhole, and associated appurtenances. Bidding Documents may be downloaded at www.westernvawater.org under ‘Procurement / Invitations to Bid’. Only licensed Virginia contractors may obtain printed Bidding Documents from the Authority Engineering Services Office, Rachel Salyers, telephone 540-853-5641. Technical inquiries regarding this bid should be directed to the Project Manager, Earl Smith, telephone 540-853-5792, fax 540-853-1017. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held January 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Authority’s Board Room.
MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. Virginia Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund requirements shall be a condition of the Contract. Bidders agree to comply with the following: Executive Orders #11246 and 11375 prohibiting discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex, or national origin; Executive Orders #12138 and 11625 regarding utilization of MBE/WBE firms; Davis-Bacon Act of 1931; Civil Rights Act of 1964; Age Discrimination Act of 1975; Rehabilitation Act of 1973; Section 306 of the Clean Air Act; Section 508 of the Clean Water Act; Requirements of 40 CFR 33.240; Certification of Non-segregated Facilities.
Bidders are referred to the Code of Virginia § 54.1-1100 et seq. for contractor requirements. The Authority does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, or religion. The Authority does not discriminate against faith-based organizations in accordance with the Code of Virginia § 2.2-4343.1. A Bid may be withdrawn in accordance with the Code of Virginia § 2.2-4330 by giving notice in writing of Bidder’s claim of right to withdraw Bid within two business days after the conclusion of the bid opening procedure and submitting original work papers with such notice.
Addendum #1 will be posted here on or before February 1, 2012. Bidders are responsible for checking this site for any subsequent addenda prior to submitting a Bid.
