Laboratory

The in-house laboratory is responsible for the daily monitoring of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), phosphorus, ammonia nitrogen (TKN), total suspended solids (TSS), and pH of the raw sludge, clarifier water, and filter effluent.
Sampling and analysis is done daily to monitor the total suspended solids (TSS), settable solids, and total solids of the mixed liquor, which is then calculated into sludge volume index (SVI).
The sludge is monitored for total solids, volatile solids and pH. This ensures the safety and quality of the biosolids produced by the plant.
Effluent quality is dependent upon the information the lab provides to operations. Close monitoring ensures the highest effluent quality. The dramatic difference between the raw sewage (left) and cleaned effluent (right) is a testament to their high quality work.
