The Western Virginia Water Authority's Wastewater Operations division is responsible for operating the Roanoke Regional Water Pollution Control Plant, which treats 40 million gallons of wastewater a day from throughout the Roanoke Valley. The Western Virginia Water Authority produces a high-quality and cost-effective effluent that meets or exceeds state and federal requirements, protecting the economic and environmental well-being of the Roanoke River basin and citizens and property owners of the Roanoke Valley.
