Is the due date of your bill within two days? To make sure that your payment is processed before your due date so you avoid late fees, pay with eCheck or in person. With either of these free options, your payment will be processed the next business day. |

By eCheck: When you receive your bill each month, you can make an secure online payment by transferring funds from your personal checking or savings account. This service is free. Payments made by eCheck will be processed the next business day. With eChecks, there are no checks, no fees, no worries! Click here to pay by eCheck.
By Credit Card: You can pay online with your personal or business Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover/Novus card. A transaction fee applies to this service. To avoid late payment fees or possible service disconnection, please allow at least five days for payment processing when paying by credit card online. Click here to pay by credit card. |

By Automatic Checking or Savings Draft: Simply send us a completed bank draft authorization form and a voided check or savings withdrawal slip, and the Western Virginia Water Authority Utility Billing Office will work with your bank to automatically draft your account for bill payment every month. This convenient recurring process is free and saves you time, checks and postage. |

By Mail: Mail your payment and payment stub using the return envelope provided in your bill to: Western Virginia Water Authority, P.O. Box 17381, Baltimore, MD 21297-1381. Checks can be made payable to WVWA. Please be sure to include your Western Virginia Water Authority account number in the memo field on your check. For your protection, please do not mail cash. To avoid late payment fees, please allow up to five days for payment processing. |

By Phone: To make a payment over the phone using your credit card, please follow these simple steps. A transaction fee for this service will be added to your payment amount. To avoid late payment fees, allow at least five days for payment processing when paying by telephone.
- Call 1-800-272-9829. You will be prompted to enter the following information on your touch tone phone keypad.
- Press 3 when prompted.
- Enter Jurisdiction Code 6211, press 1 when prompted to confirm.
- Press 1 to pay a utility bill. Enter your 19-digit account number and confirm when prompted.
- Enter a daytime phone number with area code, and confirm when prompted.
- Enter the payment amount. When you confirm, the system will then confirm your total including your transaction fee.
- Enter your credit card information as prompted.
The system will give you a verbal receipt number for your records. |

You can pay by cash, check or money order at the Water Authority's Utility Billing Office at 601 S. Jefferson Street. We are located in downtown Roanoke at the corner of Franklin Road and Jefferson Street in the building historically known as the Coulter Building. Payments are accepted in person Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on holidays.
You can also drop your payment by check or money order in one of the following Western Virginia Water Authority payment drop boxes:
- In front of the Water Authority headquarters, 601 S. Jefferson Street - in downtown Roanoke at the corner of Franklin Road and Jefferson Street.
- Across from the City of Roanoke Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building at 215 Church Avenue, SW
- In the parking lot of the Roanoke County Administration Center at 5204 Bernard Drive
Payments must be placed in the payment drop box before the due date on the bill. Payments placed in payment drop box after 8 a.m. will be credited on the following business day. For your protection, please do not leave cash. No postage is required to use the payment drop boxes. |
