COMMITTED TO WATER QUALITY IN THE ROANOKE VALLEY

The Western Virginia Water Authority's Wastewater Operations division is responsible for operating the Roanoke Regional Water Pollution Control Plant, which treats 40 million gallons of wastewater a day from throughout the Roanoke Valley. The Western Virginia Water Authority produces a high-quality and cost-effective effluent that meets or exceeds state and federal requirements, in order to protect the economic and environmental well-being of the Roanoke River basin and citizens and property owners of the Roanoke Valley. This division also includes the Water Authority's Sanitary Sewer Evaluation/Rehabilitation unit, the responsibilities of which include investigation of the condition and proper functioning of the Water Authority's sewer infrastructure.
