Western Virginia Water Authority Board Passes Budget

Roanoke, VA–The Western Virginia Water Authority board today passed the Authority’s $39.2 million operating and capital budget and adopted the current city and county water and sewer rate schedule. On Thursday, June 10, board members received input from citizens at the Western Virginia Water Authority’s public hearings on its proposed rate schedule and budget.

The Western Virginia Water Authority’s rate schedule is available on the City of Roanoke’s and Roanoke County’s Web sites (www.roanokeva.gov and www.roanokecountyva.gov). The rate schedule will also be available on the Authority’s Web site (www.westernvawater.org) after June 30, 2004. The Western Virginia Water Authority will officially begin operation on July 1, 2004.
